In a professional oven, heat without airflow leads to uneven product and equipment damage. Utilizing our AC/C TECH HVAC/R background, we approach oven repair as a thermodynamic challenge.
Centrifugal Switches and Heating Elements
If the fan motor spins but there is no heat, the centrifugal switch inside the motor may be faulty. This switch acts as a safety interlock—if the motor isn’t at full speed, it won’t allow the heating elements (electric) or gas burner to engage. We also perform thermostat calibration using an independent digital thermometer to ensure the internal temp matches the dial settings, preventing burnt or undercooked inventory.
Why is my convection oven fan spinning but the oven is cold?
This is often a safety lockout. The motor must reach a certain RPM to close the internal switch that allows heat. If the motor bearings are dragging or the internal switch is burnt, the “Heat” circuit will remain open for safety.
